An effort towards self- sustainability-Handing over sewing machine

Babita Jha, a young widow from Sahorwa, Jaleshwar who is the mother of two children had been struggling for earning her living ever since her husband was taken away by an accident. To assist her earn her living, JKK Foundation has supported her in enhancing her skill by getting her trained on sewing in her community. After the completion of her basic level of training, Foundation visited her to provide her with the sewing machine so that she could be self dependant. Now, she is able to sew few items of clothes which will assist Babita in making her living. With the initiative of Foundation, Babita has also been able to received the citizenship certificate.With this attempt, not only the earning will flow into the family but it will help the children get their basic education, earn livelyhood of the family and help to uplift the overall health of the family.

Besides, two sons of Babita are Yogesh the oldest one of seven years of age and Prem the youngest one of five years of age. These children were unable to attend school because of not having birth certificate. A continuous pressurizing of the Foundation to the VDC Office made it possible for them to get the birth certificate of the children. Soon they will be able to attend the school.
